Unveiled in mid-October 2026 and available for pre-order at **$49.99** ahead of its November 4 ship date, the **Xbox Nano Controller** is Microsoft's smallest official gamepad ever built. Early evaluations from [CNET](https://www.cnet.com/tech/gaming/xbox-nano-controller/) and [Digital Foundry](https://www.digitalfoundry.net/news/2026/10/new-xbox-nano-controller-is-designed-for-younger-players-smaller-hands-or-anyone-seeking-something-portable) examine how it packs a full console layout into a sweatshirt pocket.

## Featherweight 99-Gram Build With Zero Missing Buttons

Weighing just **99 grams (3.5 ounces)** and measuring 12.7 centimeters across, the Nano Controller retains all **18 standard Xbox inputs**—including clickable thumbsticks, bumper/trigger pairs, the Share button, and a hybrid D-pad.

### What Makes the Xbox Nano Controller Stand Out

- **Universal Connectivity:** Pairs via Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth with Xbox Series X|S, Windows PCs, iOS 27, Android 17, and Smart TVs.
- **Tailored for Smaller Hands & Travel:** Solves the reachability fatigue younger players experience on standard full-size controllers.
- **Pocketable Cloud Companion:** Pairs effortlessly with the new iPhone Duo or tablets for 1-hour free Xbox Cloud Gaming sessions on the go.

> At 99 grams and $49.99, the Xbox Nano Controller disappears into a jacket pocket until you're ready to launch Game Pass on your phone or TV.

## Ergonomic Trade-Offs for Large Hands in Competitive Shooters

Players with large hands may find the compact grip and shorter thumbstick throw less suited for multi-hour competitive *Battlefield 6* marathons compared to an Xbox Elite Series controller.

### Verdict: Worth the $49.99 Pre-Order?

For commuters, cloud gamers, and families with younger players, the Xbox Nano Controller is an essential, reasonably priced accessory. Full primary documentation is available via [CNET Hands-On With the Xbox Nano Controller](https://www.cnet.com/tech/gaming/xbox-nano-controller/).
